Exciting Changes Coming to The Makery

I wanted to keep you all updated on what’s happening now at The Makery.

Our creative workshop schedule for April/May/June is just about finalized. I hope to have it live on the website in the next couple of days. (Coming in April:  Secret Belgian Bookbinding and Intro to Kumihimo)

We’ll have fewer workshops in the new space (as I try to make my life a little bit more manageable 😉), so be sure to sign up for the ones you want early!

Speaking of the new space, we have moved just down the street about two blocks, to 106 East Market, behind the Grant County Art Guild at the Hester House, between Bullard and the Big Ditch. We’ll have a Grand Re-opening open house sometime in April—info will be posted here and on our website.

Our hours will be different in the new space, as well. Our open hours will be during our public weaving sessions, which will be Wednesdays from 10 to Noon, Thursdays from 2 to 4 (and during Kids’ Weaving, currently from 4 to 5:30–changing to 12 to 1:30 once school is out), and every first and third Saturday from 11 to 1, starting next week (April 3). This will be the time you can definitely find us in the studio, if you need to register for a workshop in person (you can also register online anytime 😉) or talk with me about scheduling a private workshop or commissioning a weaving or custom book, or anything else you need or want to chat with me about!

We’ll also be open by appointment for private weaving sessions (at the same rate as public sessions, except for the introductory sessions, which will be at the full rate if done by appointment). We hope to have our online appointment scheduling system up and running very soon, to make it easy to schedule your weaving sessions outside of the regularly-schedule public sessions. (You can also use the appointment system to reserve a loom during the public sessions, if you want to be sure there is one available for you.)

These hours may change as we go along, depending on how everything is working. Thank you for your patience with us as we try out this new way of doing things. 

Remember, you can also find our hand-crafted books, handwoven art, home goods, and clothing, and other fun hand-crafted goodies for sale at the Grant County Art Guild at the Hester House, at the corner of Bullard & Market, open every day from 10 to 5 (Sundays from Noon to 4).
